How High Arches Impact your Entire Body

High Arches (medically known as Pes Planus) is said to affect about 10% of the population. It is regarding as being primarily hereditary, and while less common than the opposite condition, flat feet, can still cause a number of issues. While an individual may have the diagnosis of high arches, the negative impacts of it can take time to surface, which primarily includes pain in the feet due to overloading of the metatarsal area of the foot, and if not corrected, pain can spread to the ankles, calves, knees and lower back. This is due to the bio-mechanical relationship between one’s feet and how it impacts their walking form.

Custom Orthotics that are designed to correct High Arches introduce a supportive arch to one’s feet, allowing feet to sit comfortably in shoes without collapsing to the flat insole that comes with store bought shoes. Doing this encourages a positive bio-mechanical form, eliminating the negative impacts of having High Arches. Custom Orthotics are both corrective (will fix existing issues), but also preventative – ensuring future conditions do not surface as a result of having High Arches.

    Attention to Detail:

Custom Orthotic Assessments take roughly 45 minutes and are performed by our award-winning Chiropractor: Dr. Tammy Yuen.

Our detailed assessment includes a health history taking, physical-functional analysis, gait assessment, and finally a semi-weight bearing foam moulding of your feet.

We then will go over with you the various extra options to further customize your orthotics (i.e. for general use, high athletic use, boots, or even in heels!).

Once our assessment is done, manufacturing time is roughly two weeks, at which point, your othotics will be ready for pick-up!
